Structure Fire Roby Street

STRUCTURE FIRE

At 20:15 hours, SCFD was dispatched to Roby Street for a reported structure fire. Engine 2217 on scene at 20:21 reporting smoke showing from the bravo charlie side of a single family residential dwelling. Engine 17 established their own water supply from a nearby hydrant on Hanna Ave and pulled a 200' preconnect to the bravo side. Engine 17's crew made an aggressive interior attack and contained fire spread to a single room and contents. Salvage, overhaul, and ventilation were performed with the structure suffering moderate smoke damage and minimal fire loss. 2 animals were rescued from the structure with one person being treated and released by ALS personnel for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire was determined to be a malfunctioning dryer.
